A Harvest alternative for teams that have to stand behind their hours
Harvest is a mature time tracker with invoicing built in. BetterFlow comes at the same job from the other end: it checks that each timesheet entry says clearly what was done, and keeps leave and approvals in the same place.
This page sets the two side by side so you can decide which one fits. Everything said about Harvest comes from its own pricing and features pages, read on 19 October 2026.
The main differences
How you pay
Harvest charges per seat. On 19 October 2026 its Teams plan started at $11 per seat per month billed monthly ($9 billed annually), and its Enterprise plan at $17.50 per seat per month ($14 billed annually).
BetterFlow is one price for the whole company, not a price for each person.
What happens to an entry
In BetterFlow an AI model reads each saved entry, scores it from 0 to 100 and says whether it is clear enough to bill. When the project is connected to GitHub, the check also compares the entry with that day's commits, pull requests, reviews and issues.
Harvest's own pages describe timesheet approvals, required notes and an activity log for keeping time data accurate.
Approvals
Harvest lists timesheet approvals under its Enterprise plan. BetterFlow has approvals at its one price: managers approve or reject entries one at a time or in bulk.
Leave and time off
BetterFlow includes leave management: leave types, requests, approvals, balances and public holidays by country, next to the timesheets.
When Harvest is the better fit
Pick Harvest if these matter more to you than checked timesheets:
- Sending invoices from tracked time and expenses, and taking payment online through PayPal or Stripe.
- Copying invoices and payments to QuickBooks Online or Xero.
- Scheduling people across projects with Harvest Forecast.
BetterFlow does not send client invoices, take payments or track expenses. It exports timesheet reports as PDF or Excel.
When BetterFlow is the better fit
- Clients question your hours, and you want each entry to say clearly what was done.
- Your team works in GitHub or Jira and you want entries drafted from that work.
- You want timesheets, approvals and leave in one tool, at one price for the company.
- You want clients to see their projects' timesheets in a portal of their own.
